Membership

The Industry Nature Conservation Association (INCA) is a membership-funded, not-for-profit organisation, which since its inception in 1989 has helped to balance the needs of economic development and nature conservation in the Tees Valley.

INCA has helped both businesses and the natural environment for over 30 years. The benefits of your membership of INCA would be:

A Bespoke Membership Service, tailored to your needs

A fast and available service through your membership agreement, without delays and time-consuming procurement processes. Complimentary working days (number depends on membership level). Ongoing preferential members rates for additional work. Priority status for strategic environmental links between member organisations, e.g. Use of INCA’s Habitat Bank, for the delivery of Biodiversity net gain (BNG) and initiatives to realise Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) opportunities.

Environmental initiatives

INCA continues to lead key initiatives in the estuary and our wider membership, which has most recently included species introductions with great success, along with the setting up of a Tees valley and members habitat banking scheme. This builds on previous successes, such as developing a Memorandum of Understanding for the expanded Teesmouth and Cleveland Coast Special Protection Area, ensuring that the statutory needs of the regulators are met in full and translated to industry.

Strategic Advice

A complete ecological planning service from: Surveys, the INCA ecological database, biodiversity net gain assessment and habitat banking availability, to ongoing monitoring and management.

Facilitating partnerships

Building on our rich and successful role in key partnerships for projects, such as the Tees Estuary Partnership, INCA provides a vital link between its members and with other landowners, both industrial and rural, in providing best value and available biodiversity units through its habitat banking approach. We also continue to offer a direct link to regulators in relation to complex and strategic level developments.

Environmental Credentials

Promotion of your environmental credentials, demonstrating and working with you to develop your Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Climate Change responsibilities, e.g., a biodiversity action plan for your company site, independent verification of your biodiversity units and workforce action and educational days.
